About
Hi my name is Letty, even though my passport says Katja. I’m a Berlin-based software developer focussing on data visualization.
My background is in computer science. In the early years, I mainly developed user interfaces, but since my masters program, I’m fascinated by data visualization. Not only do I like the results, I love the process of analyzing data, coming up with a visualization concept and then coding all the nifty little details.
The term ‘Full-Stack-Developer’ probably best describes my skill set, which includes:
- Frontend development using Angular or Vuejs as well as plain JS, HTML and SCSS
- Backend development using Python and Flask (earlier nodejs)
- Databases (SQL and NoSQL)
- Basic server administration (Ubuntu)
Nowadays I’m mostly into web development, but my background is in Java and OpenGL.
I worked for different research institutes, agencies and NGO’s both in employee and freelance roles. As I’m happy to share my knowledge, I teach classes at the Potsdam University for Applied Science and offer workshops for groups and individuals.
